The Project

Clean Eyer Global-3

CleanEyre Global’s location, technology, infrastructure and expertise has placed us perfectly to be first to market in the creation of a sustainable, aquaculture process for the large-scale cultivation of Asparagopsis.

Our partnership with Eyre Shellfish gives us class leading aquaculture technology, along with all the infrastructure and licenses needed to proceed with commercial production. We’re situated next to the sparkling clean waters of the Eyre Peninsula, the ideal base for developing isolates for both temperate and tropical waters.

These state of the art facilities give us a headstart in achieving viable production while  and world leading expertise has already closed the loop on the lifecycle, with Tetra spore germination through to mature gametophytes.

The Location

There are of Asparagopsis; Armata which grows in temperate waters and Taxiformis which prefers tropical and subtropical waters.

South Australia’s Eyre peninsula is the only place in the world we’re both varieties are naturally occuring. That’s why we have established facilities in both Franklin Harbour and Coffin Bay; locations which feature the high salinity, high calcium waters that Asparagopsis thrive in.

Aside from being blessed with the ideal conditions for the growth of Asparagopsis, Franklin Harbour and Coffin Bay already sustain a large scale shellfish industry with the infrastructure needed for the cultivation of algae.

We’re working in partnership with Eyre Shellfish in developing scalable, commercial applications with the first goal of finding the best approach to propagation.

Eyre Shellfish have an established hatchery for Pacific Oysters along with licensing to expand to an Asparagopsis hatchery which includes existing water leases in both locations. They also have full DA and EPA access to draw water from Franklin Harbour with pumping infrastructure already in place that will allow for the creation of a land-based dam system with immense expansion opportunity.
